Program Manager

Hours: 15 - 20 hours a week

Position Summary:

The function of the Program Manager is to oversee the direction of Ragfinery’s community engagement, outreach, and the growing capacity of the organization to serve our community in an environmentally, socially, and economically sustainable way. This role ensures that required grant activities and project objectives are met and works closely with the Executive Director and Retail Manager to support Ragfinery’s day-to-day needs and growth. The Program Manager will focus on running social media, community outreach, partnerships, and fulfilling grant deliverables through educational content creation. Other aspects of this role include occasional retail shop support and collaboration with the Retail Manager as needed. As Ragfinery recovers post-fire, this position's roles may be subject to change as needed. 

Primary Responsibilities

Community Engagement

  • Develop and maintain relationships with community partners, artists, and local organizations.

  • Manage social media and website content to promote awareness and engagement.

  • Plan and support events, workshops, and outreach initiatives.

  • Represent Ragfinery in public forums and media opportunities.

  • Support volunteer engagement and recognition efforts.

Grant Deliverables

  • Oversee educational initiatives, including content creation on textile waste and creative reuse.

  • Coordinate and track community programs.

  • Monitor and report on program impact, including volunteer hours and donations.

  • Support administrative tasks related to grant compliance and reporting.

Retail Support (when the store eventually reopens)

  • Collaborate with the Retail Manager on store operations, sales, and events.

  • Assist with financial responsibilities, including cash handling and expense tracking.

  • Provide occasional in-store support and contribute to daily operations as needed.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Support special event planning and execution.

  • Assist with administrative tasks tied to grant deliverables.

  • Assist the Executive Director with miscellaneous shop-related or post-fire related tasks.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Creative and motivated individual with a passion for sustainability, textile arts, and community engagement.

  • Experience with event and volunteer management.

  • Proficiency in social media management, content creation, and video editing.

  • Experience using Canva, Squarespace, email marketing, Google Workspace, and Stripe.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly in tracking grant deliverables.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a hybrid work environment.

  • Knowledge of textiles, mending, or creative reuse techniques is preferred.

  • Flexibility to attend required weekly meetings and adapt to evolving priorities.

  • Valid driver’s license and a good driving record.

Work Environment

  • Hybrid (mostly remote) work setup with flexible hours.

  • Monthly staff meetings.

  • Occasional on-site presence for shop support and event participation.
